Hi, I’m Robbin Farr, and 10 poetry notebooks is a place to think out loud about poetry, writing, and the small, daily practices that keep us tethered to creativity.
This is not a newsletter for polished performance. It’s a space for process, presence, and poetic curiosity. It is rooted in the belief that poetry is a practice, one that flourishes with community, encouragement, and regular invitations to begin again.
Thank you so much for this, Robbin. I drank down every word and felt that itch in my fingertips for clean, blank pages in a notebook. H.R.
Who’s at the helm?
For eight years now, I’ve been the editor and founder of River Heron Review, a free access online poetry journal, where I have the privilege of reading thousands of poems and curating hundreds of the very best to share with our readers.
As an extension of the journal, I work with writers through River Heron Workshops, where I help poets explore their voice, refine their craft, and reconnect with their creative instincts.
This experience continues to shape how I read, write, and think about poetry as both a reader and a maker, and, in turn, relate to readers on Substack.
You stir up our imagination. Thank you. A.
10 poetry notebooks is a reflection of my work — but slower, quieter, and more personal.
